BAY ISLANDS, HONDURAS DIVE TRIP....AND MORE!

     *    Are you Advanced Certified? Do you have your Wreck Diver Specialty Cert?  You don't?  Well Andy will be offering both classes during our first week on Roatan.  There is a good wreck that sits just out front of where we are staying on the island.  Many places in the world these days require that you have your Advanced Cert to dive deeper signature dives.  Plus, many dive operators we're finding will not allow you anywhere near a wreck, let alone penetrate it if you cannot show them your Advanced and Wreck Cert Cards.  If you have plans to dive the Florida wrecks or the wreck graveyard in Truk Lagoon, Micronesia, or with us on our dive trip to the Red Sea to dive the famous wreck dive sites there, you need to be Advanced plus Wreck Certified.  Take this chance to not only improve and upgrade your dive skills, but have Andy as your instructor AND do the class in WARM WATER!  Call Andy immediately to get class details and requirements.  Call him at 916-332-8294.

WHAT:    7-Night Trip Extension Dive Package INCLUDES:

SECOND WEEK EXTENSION ADD-ON COST: ADDITONAL $1,660 per person, double occupancy including inter-island round trip flight.   At Utila Lodge, no drinks are included in the package.  If you want to dive Nitrox, the package cost for Nitrox is $150 for the week.

2-NIGHT MAINLAND HONDURAS COPAN RUINS EXTENSION

YOU MUST HAVE A PASSPORT VALID FOR AT LEAST SIX MONTHS FROM YOUR RETURN DATE.  U.S. Passport applications and information can be found on line at   PASSPORT HOME

Every diver on this on this trip is required to have Diver Accident Insurance coverage.  This insurance is available through Divers Alert Network.  DAN   Be sure to give DAN the SWS # 421046 when you purchase your membership and your diver accident insurance.

 

Trip Release of Liability Waiver Requirement:  Every person who reserves a spot on a trip through SWS must have a completed TRIP WAIVER form on file at SWS before being allowed on the trip.  If you do not know the cost of your trip to put in the "amount" space, contact LYNN  .  Download, print, fill in the blanks, indicate you have read and understand the waiver by signing and dating the SCUBA WORLD TRIP WAIVER FORM and fax the completed form "attention Lynn" to SWS at fax number : 916-338-0277.

 

Individual group members will be responsible for their their own charges at the resorts including but not limited to: any marine park fees, chamber fees or boat fuel surcharges, beverages & bar bill, telephone, sightseeing, additional dives, gratuities, meals on travel days and any other items of a personal nature.

Carry-on and checked bag questions can be answered at CONTINENTAL AIRLINE 

Currently, Continental is charging $25 for second bag up to 50 lbs.  If you are continuing on with us for our second week on Utila or Utila plus Copan, plan to pay hefty weight overage fees to the inter-island airline if you bring a second bag.   Try to bring one bag only plus a carry-on.  I suggest you bring all your dive gear plus shorts, tops and bathing suits for one week only.  Plan to wash clothes if continuing on for second week.  Copan is in the highlands and might get a little chilly at night.  A light sweater plus a pair of long pants might be in order.

For any travel to Honduras and the Bay Islands, the most important item to take with you right after your valid passport and your diver cert cards is enough supply of 100% DEET Jungle Juice you can purchase at REI.  No kidding.  "No see 'ums" or sand flees can ruin your vacation if you are especially sensitive to bites.

Honduras, and recently on the island of Roatan, there have been a few cases of tourists contracting Malaria.  Therefore, as a precaution, SWS is emphasizing the importance of consulting your doctor or travel medical specialist to insure you are protected.  Hepatitis A & B series of shots, Tetanus, Diphtheria and

Typhoid.  Anti-malarial protocol that involves taking meds sometimes starting a couple of weeks prior to departure date, continuing thru your travel and after you return home.  Be sure to inform your doctor that you are a diver.  Some types of antimalarial meds can cause side effects that mimic the bends.  SWS recommends you always consult your doctor prior to traveling anywhere outside the U.S. as a precaution against illnesses, etc. that could totally ruin your vacation should you contract one of these very serious diseases.  Prevention takes little effort and is well worth the peace of mind.

For further peace of mind, SWS strongly recommends you purchase additional trip cancellation/interruption coverage to help defray costs arising from unforeseen events.  No one plans an emergency.  But you can prepare for one.  Carefully read any insurance policy before purchase to make sure it covers your specific needs.  If you must cancel, all deposit money is non-refundable unless we are able to fill your vacated space.  If we are able to fill your vacated spot, SWS will refund your deposit minus $200 cancellation fee.  *Scuba World is NOT A SELLER OF INSURANCE.  We are giving you information about insurance coverage as a service only.  Once you find a policy you wish to purchase you must purchase that policy directly from the insurance agency.

Divers Alert Network in addition to selling Diver Accident Insurance coverage also sells trip cancellation and interruption insurance coverage which is an expanded version of the basic DAN diver accident coverage.  SWS highly recommends purchase of this trip specific additional coverage.  In the event you have to cancel, the additional trip insurance coverage could help you receive reimbursement for non-refundable deposits and costs should you have to cancel or interrupt your trip to come home for reasons not covered under the Diver Accident Insurance Coverage.
